The Golden Empire
To humans, half-elves look like elves. To elves, they look like humans—indeed, elves call them half-humans. Half-elf height ranges from under 5 feet to about 6 feet tall, and weight usually ranges from 100 to 180 pounds. Half-elf men are taller and heavier than half-elf women, but the difference is less pronounced than that found among humans. Half-elves are paler, fairer, and smoother-skinned than their human parents, but their actual skin tone, hair color, and other details vary just as human features do. Half-elves’ eyes are green, just as are those of their elf parents. A half-elf reaches adulthood at age 20 and can live to be over 180 years old.
Half-Elves do not have kingdoms to themselves to which they rule. Instead they often live within elven and human lands. However, despite the wisdom of the older race of Elves, the Elves tend to be less hospitible to this cross-breed often calling them “Kal-Sha” or dishonored ones. As such, it is very rare for a Half-Elf to elivate himself/herself to a position of power or even social ranking. For this reason the lion share of Half-Elves travel to human cities to escape this fate.
In Human lands Half-Elves are considered equals by mant Humans as Elves are highly respected in these lands these Half-Elves thrive as many humans easily mistake a Half-Elf for a full Elf… A mistake that is rarely contested by Half-Elves seeking acceptance in a foreign empire. Half-Elves born in human lands often require home schooling as their development is not nearly as quick possibly leading to a tougher childhood, but is easily compensated by later years in human society looking at them as full grown Elves…
Half-Elves are known as the best bards and merchants in the land by far with their sharp senses, longer life spans, and excellent skills in negotation making them equals to even the Halflings in their commercial skills. Even politically, many Half-Elves seek out positions of power and are often very successful in their endevours within the Non-Aligned Lands.
